Article 60 of MiCA allows specified categories of already regulated financial institutions, including credit institutions, investment firms and central securities depositories, to provide crypto-asset services without a separate CASP authorisation.

The institution notifies its home regulator at least 40 working days before it first provides the services. The services it can offer depend on its category and the conditions set out in the regulation.

Germany accounts for most Article 60 notifications in the EEA, because many German banks and financial firms were already licensed for crypto custody before MiCA.
