Regulation (EU) 2023/1114, Article 93
October 16, 2026
Each EU member state designates one or more competent authorities to apply MiCA. Examples include BaFin in Germany, the AMF in France, the MFSA in Malta, CySEC in Cyprus and the AFM in the Netherlands.
The competent authority in a CASP's home member state grants its permission, supervises it and can withdraw that permission. Competent authorities also publish warnings and penalties. By 13 October 2026, nine of the 30 EEA jurisdictions had published MiCA-related regulatory action.
