Regulation (EU) 2023/1114, Article 3(1)
October 16, 2026
Under MiCA, a CASP's host member states are the countries where it provides crypto-asset services through passporting. Its licence comes from the regulator of its home member state, which also remains its main supervisor.
In VASPnet's passporting data of 21 September 2026, 181 CASPs licensed elsewhere could provide services in Romania, which had authorised none of its own. For a counterparty serving customers in a host member state, the register to check is the home regulator's.
