CASP is MiCA's term for a firm that provides one or more crypto-asset services as a business. The services MiCA lists include custody, operating a trading platform, exchange between crypto-assets and money, executing orders and transfer services.

A firm becomes a CASP through an Article 63 authorisation, or, if it is already a regulated financial institution such as a bank, through an Article 60 notification. Outside the EU, the equivalent term is usually VASP.

VASPnet recorded 372 MiCA-permitted CASPs on 13 October 2026, 105 of them in Germany.
